Auschwitz Concentration and Extermination camp

Auschwitz Concentration and Extermination camp

The perimeter Barbed wire fences were all electrified.

P81:"Newborn creatures, we march out of the showers. Shorn and stripped, washed and uniformed, women and girls between sixteen and forty-five, separated from mothers, fathers, husbands, sisters, brothers, and from offspring - transformed into bodies marching uniformly towards the barracks of Auschwitz. …………….. Unknowingly , we survived the selection of the SS god Dr Mengele, the tall, handsome, psychotic monster with the kind voice who gently stroked my ‘golden hair’ and told me to lie about my age to his SS machinery so as to save my life. We survived where our parents, little sisters and brothers, and grandparents did not. We, a few out of every hundred, survived the selection. While tens of thousands were sent to the gas chambers, we were sent to the showers. While we were shorn and soaped, our parents and grandparents, our younger sisters and brothers were suffocating in Zyklon B. And while we shivered on the Zahlappell, their bodies were turned into ashes in the crematoria".
